Keystone Legend (KSL) in Midnight Season 2: 3000 Rating Guide

Keystone Legend is the highest of the three seasonal Mythic+ achievements in WoW Midnight Season 2: 3000 rating, one step above Keystone Hero at 2500 and Keystone Master at 2000. It rewards the Breath of Ruin mount, and like every seasonal keystone reward it disappears when Season 3 starts. This guide covers what the achievement actually checks, how rating is counted in Midnight, which key levels get you there and why the last 500 points are where most players stall.
What Keystone Legend requires in Season 2
The criterion is a single line: attain a Mythic+ rating of at least 3000 during Midnight Season 2. There is no separate key-level requirement and no dungeon-count requirement. Your rating is the sum of your best timed run in each dungeon of the Season 2 pool:
- Altar of Fangs (the new Season 2 dungeon, three bosses, 30-minute timer)
- Murder Row
- Den of Nalorakk
- The Blinding Vale
- Voidscar Arena
- Ruby Life Pools
- Kings' Rest
- Temple of Sethraliss
Eight dungeons, one score each. Whatever your best timed key in a dungeon is, that is the number that counts; running it again lower or untimed does not reduce it.
Master, Hero, Legend: what each tier gives
- Keystone Master, 2000 rating — the Breath of Blight mount and the title. The tier most players aim for; our KSM guide covers it in detail.
- Keystone Hero, 2500 rating — the Keystone Hero title.
- Keystone Legend, 3000 rating — the Breath of Ruin mount and the Keystone Legend title. The next milestone above it, 3400, is the top-end achievement for the season's best pushers.
Rating also unlocks the eight dungeon teleports along the way: each dungeon's portal comes from timing it at +10, which most Legend pushes pass through naturally.
Which key levels get you to 3000
Rating starts at 155 for a timed +2 and rises with every level, with a further bump for timing a key fast enough to upgrade it. In practice, 3000 means all eight dungeons timed around +12 to +13. Two things distort that rule of thumb: untimed runs give reduced score, so one depleted key can leave you short even if the level looks right, and an uneven profile (a +15 here, a +9 there) is worse than eight even runs. Before your last few keys, put your current scores into a rating calculator and see exactly which dungeon is cheapest to raise.
Why most players stall between 2500 and 3000
Keystone Hero is where the pug ladder ends. Above +12 the difficulty jump is no longer about item level: interrupts, defensive timing and routing decide the timer, and Altar of Fangs in particular punishes groups that do not know the movement on its second and third boss. Five players who are all on the same page time keys that a stronger but uncoordinated group deplete. Add the practical problems, finding a group willing to run your key at the level you need, and a depleted key setting you back an hour, and the last 500 rating regularly takes longer than the first 2500.
How a self-play Keystone Legend boost works
Our Keystone Legend boost is played self-play: you stay on your own character in your own group, four EU pros fill the other slots, and every key is timed so it counts for rating and your Great Vault. We start from wherever you are. If you already hold 2500, we price and run only the dungeons that still need a higher timed key; if you are coming from lower, the Keystone Hero and Keystone Master packages cover the earlier tiers, and individual Mythic+ keys fill a single dungeon. No account sharing and no bots; you can play your role or follow the group. Most orders start within 15 minutes and a Hero-to-Legend push is usually done over two or more sessions.
The deadline
Breath of Ruin is a Season 2 reward. When Season 3 begins the achievement closes, rating resets and the mount cannot be earned or bought afterwards. If you are sitting between 2500 and 3000 in the final weeks of the season, that is the time to decide. Every Mythic+ option is listed on our Mythic+ page.
