Keystone Myth Season 2: 3600 Rating, Rewards and Saddle

Keystone Myth Season 2: 3600 Rating, Rewards and Saddle

Keystone Myth is the highest Mythic+ achievement of Midnight Season 2 and the one most players only look at from a distance: 3600 rating, 200 points above the 3400 it asked for in Season 1. It came back with patch 12.1.5 on 13 October and it pays a title and a saddle that turns into a mount. This guide covers what you get, every rating reward of the season, what the Timelost Saddle buys and why it has a deadline, the eight dungeons, and how rating works so you can plan the push. Everything here comes from the game data and from Blizzard.

What Keystone Myth is

The achievement Midnight Keystone Myth: Season 2 asks for a Mythic+ rating of at least 3600 during Season 2. It rewards the title "the Venomous Contender" and the Timelost Saddle. The achievement shows account-wide progress, and the saddle binds to your Warband. In Season 1 the same step was 3400 and gave "the Umbral Contender".

All Season 2 rating rewards

1500Keystone ConquerorTitle "the Venomous"
2000Keystone MasterBreath of Blight mount
2500Keystone HeroAchievement
3000Keystone LegendBreath of Ruin mount
3600Keystone MythTitle "the Venomous Contender" and the Timelost Saddle

Each step is its own achievement, so a push to 3600 also collects everything below it. If you are still under 3000, our Keystone Legend guide covers that step, and the Keystone Master guide the one before it.

The Timelost Saddle: trade it before the season ends

The saddle is not a mount by itself. You take it to Lindormi, who stands in Silvermoon and in the Timeways, and trade it for one mount from a list that includes Shreddertanks, Mechsuits, Deathwalkers and Void Flyers. Because it is bound to your Warband, any of your characters can make the trade. The detail most guides skip: the item text says the saddle expires at the end of the season. If you reach 3600, pick your mount soon rather than keeping the saddle for later.

The eight dungeons of Season 2

  • Altar of Fangs, the new Season 2 dungeon.
  • Murder Row
  • Den of Nalorakk
  • The Blinding Vale
  • Voidscar Arena
  • King's Rest
  • Temple of Sethraliss
  • Ruby Life Pools, which got the largest health and damage reductions with 12.1.5.

The pool did not change with 12.1.5, so your routes and notes from the first half of the season still apply. Recheck the dungeons Blizzard tuned before you plan which ones to push first.

How rating works and how to plan the push

Blizzard describes Mythic+ rating as a value that rises when you complete a dungeon for the first time or beat your best result in it. Each completed key is scored on three things: the key level, the affixes and the time compared to the timer. A failed run lowers the level of your keystone; to gain rating you need a better result in that dungeon. Three things follow from that:

  • All eight dungeons count. A dungeon you have barely run holds your total down more than anything else, so raise your weakest dungeons first.
  • Timing matters. A key finished inside the timer scores more than the same key finished late, so a key you can time is often worth more than one level higher that you cannot.
  • Gear still matters at the top. Ascendant Venomstones push your weapon, trinket and necklace past the track cap; our Venomstones guide shows where they drop and what to upgrade first.

For the rest of the patch, from the Kith'ix raid to the Labyrinth, see our 12.1.5 guide.

Getting to 3600 with a team

A 3600 push is mostly about finding a group that times high keys reliably every week. Our Keystone Myth boost does that with our EU key pushers: you play your own character, self-play, and we start from your current rating until you reach 3600. Below 3000, start with Keystone Legend; below 2500, Keystone Hero. Questions about your character or your rating? Ask us on Discord.
