WoW Midnight Season 2 Raid Guide

Season 2 of World of Warcraft: Midnight brings a fresh raid tier built around the Tide & Venom theme. This guide breaks down every raid, its bosses, item levels, and rewards — and how to get your clears done fast if progression isn't your thing.

Venomous Abyss — the main raid

Venomous Abyss is the 8-boss Season 2 raid. It opens with Nek'zali and ends with Ula'tek, with two branches through the middle. Available in Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic and Mythic.

Article levels: 282 (Raid Finder) / 295 (Normal) / 308 (Heroic) / 321 (Mythic), with the Coiled Altar and Ula'tek dropping up to ilvl 344 on Mythic.
Rewards: the full Season 2 class set, the Crimson Venomfang meta-achievement mount, and the Primeval Skyfriend from Mythic Ula'tek.
Achievements: Ahead of the Curve (Heroic) and Cutting Edge (Mythic).

Tidebound Grotto — the new Lair

The Tidebound Grotto is a single-boss Lair featuring Nymrissa Wavecaller, available on Normal, Heroic and Mythic with loot around ilvl 292–318. It's a quick weekly source of gear and Great Vault progress alongside the main raid.

Difficulties & how gearing works

Démarrer on Normal or Heroic for catch-up gear, then push Mythic for the top item levels and Cutting Edge. Each boss you kill feeds your Great Vault, so even a partial clear each week is worth it. Heroic is the sweet spot for most players — solid ilvl 308 gear plus the Ahead of the Curve title before the next tier arrives.

Ahead of the Curve & Cutting Edge

Ahead of the Curve is earned by defeating Ula'tek on Heroic before the next raid tier — a prestige marker that becomes unobtainable afterwards. Cutting Edge is the Mythic equivalent for the true endgame crowd.
