WoW Midnight PvP Gear Guide: Honor, Conquest & Item Levels

Rated PvP in WoW Midnight Season 2 is decided by two numbers: your rating and your PvP item level. This guide covers the second one — what Honor and Conquest gear is, what every slot costs, how Conquest weapons work and how to make raid tier pieces count in Arenas. Every number here comes from the game's own item and vendor data.
Honor gear vs. Conquest gear in Season 2
Season 2 has two PvP gear sets. Both only require level 90 to buy — no rating — and both are sold in Silvermoon City:
| Honor gear | Conquest gear | |
|---|---|---|
| Set | Venomous Aspirant's | Venomous Gladiator's |
| Vendor | Captain Dawnrunner, Honor Quartermaster | Irissa Bloodstar, Conquest Quartermaster |
| Currency | Honor — for unrated PvP gear, capped at 15,000 | Conquest — earned from rated PvP |
| Item level in PvP | At least 331 | At least 344 |
| Weapons | Bought with Honor | Weapon Tokens first, then Conquest |
The PvP item level is what counts: in Arenas, Battlegrounds and War Mode, Honor pieces are raised to a minimum of 331 and Conquest pieces to a minimum of 344. Honor gear is the starter set for unrated play; Conquest gear is what rated players wear.
What every PvP slot costs
Honor and Conquest pieces cost the same amount of their currency, slot for slot:
| Slot | Cost (Honor or Conquest) |
|---|---|
| Helm, chest, legs | 875 |
| Shoulders, gloves, belt, boots | 700 |
| Wrists, neck, ring, cloak | 525 |
| Medallion trinket | 525 |
| Other PvP trinkets | 700 |
| Shield or off-hand | 525 |
| One-hand weapon | 875 or 1,225 |
| Two-hand or ranged weapon | 1,750 |
Because Honor is capped at 15,000, spend it as you earn it so nothing is lost at the cap. The Medallion is the cheapest trinket at 525.
Conquest weapons: Venomous Weapons of Conquest
Conquest weapons work differently from armour. Earn 2,500 Conquest on a character during Season 2 to complete the achievement Venomous Weapons of Conquest, which rewards two Venomous Gladiator's Weapon Tokens. You exchange the tokens for Gladiator weapons at Falconwing Square in Silvermoon. Once the achievement is complete, you can also buy additional Gladiator weapons with Conquest — 875 or 1,225 for one-handers, 1,750 for two-handers.
Raid tier pieces in PvP: Lacquer, Varnish and the Equipment Chest
If you raid, you do not have to replace your tier set for PvP. The Conquest Quartermaster sells three items that bridge the two:
- Conqueror's Venomous Lacquer (700 Conquest) raises the minimum item level of Venomous Abyss set gloves or shoulders to 344 in Arenas, Battlegrounds and War Mode.
- Conqueror's Venomous Varnish (875 Conquest) does the same for the set helm, chest or legs.
- Venomous Equipment Chest (375 Conquest) creates a piece of Venomous Gladiator's equipment for your loot specialization. It needs a PvP rating of 1400 in any bracket and binds to your Warband, so you can send it to an alt.
Our raid bundle gets you the tier pieces; Lacquer and Varnish make them PvP-ready.
Gear vs. rating: what still needs a higher rating
Gear power does not depend on rating — the cosmetics do. The Elite armour appearance unlocks piece by piece from 1000 to 1800, then 1950 adds the Venomcoil weapon illusion, 2100 (Duelist) the prestigious cloak and 2300 (Elite) the tabard and the Elite title. Gladiator is 50 3v3 wins at Elite rank and rewards the Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake mount. Our PvP rating guide lists every threshold and title.
Gear up and climb at the same time
Conquest is earned from rated PvP, so a rating push also earns Conquest for gear and the weapon achievement. Our EU multi-Gladiator players push your rating in 2v2, 3v3 or Rated Battlegrounds — always self-play, with you on your own character in your own games, so the Conquest you earn is yours.
